Earlier this month, FM Approvals’ Patrick Byrne, Khalid Ansari, and Christopher Shaffer attended S4x24 as part of our continued dedication to helping our existing customers, prospective customers, and other stakeholders ensure that critical infrastructure is as secure as possible against cybersecurity threats to connected industrial control systems (ICS), operational technology (OT), and other systems and devices.
S4x24 was held in Miami Beach and is the foremost conference exclusively dedicated to ICS/OT cybersecurity. The event is tailored to early adopters and advanced practitioners – all of whom enjoy being on the leading edge of discussions, idea generation, and information sharing related to the advancement of ICS/OT cybersecurity.
With FM Approvals’ standing as an ISASecure® Certification Body for the globally-recognized ISA/IEC 62443 cybersecurity standards, Patrick, Khalid, and Christopher connected firsthand with other industry leaders at S4x24. Many discussions revolved around new developments in the ICS/OT cybersecurity space, FM Approvals’ Cybersecurity Certification Program, and the need for testing and certification to address the increase in demand for secure-by-design products, and upcoming regulations such as the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA).
Products tested and certified by FM Approvals to be cyber secure have designed-in security, have passed vulnerability identification testing, and are determined to be robust against cybersecurity attacks at the designated security level. The types of products that FM Approvals tests and certifies include; programmable logic controllers (PLCs), distributed control systems (DCS), data diodes, OT firewalls and switches, IIoT devices and gateways, and more.
If your organization manufactures these types of products or is in search of these solutions to confirm robustness against cybersecurity threats to critical infrastructure in support of property loss prevention, please contact Khalid Ansari at khalid.ansari@fmapprovals.com.
