Examination Standard FM 4880, Class 1 Fire Rating of Building Panels or Interior Finish Materials, was updated in November 2022 to include doors manufactured with the same facers and core as wall panels within the scope.
As with insulated or non-insulated wall and/or ceiling panels, included doors are supplied in the form of field or factory fabricated panels. Typically, they consist of a core material and are faced with steel, aluminum, plastic or other materials.
Fire doors are not included within the scope of FM 4880. Fire door assemblies with degree or hourly ratings are examined under FM 4100, Fire Door Assemblies.
