FM Approvals appoints Richard Ferron as CEO Effective Dec. 1, 2022.

As CEO, Rich will use his experience of the FM Approvals business and customer base to lead the organization as it expands its certified product offering throughout the world. As risks continue to evolve, property loss prevention solutions to mitigate those risks are rapidly developed and deployed. Under Rich's leadership, FM Approvals will remain at the forefront of these solutions.

Since joining the company in 1992, Rich has served in many roles, including project engineer; senior engineer; engineering specialist; technical team manager; group manager – Building Materials; Approvals director – Fire Protection, and most recently, chief operating officer for FM Approvals. 

Prior to joining FM Approvals, Rich served in engineering roles for UNC Manufacturing Technology, UNC Naval Products, and Babcock and Wilcox Company – Alliance Research Center. Rich holds a master’s degree and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (Worcester, Massachusetts, USA). 

Rich replaces Paris Stavrianidis, who will retire on Dec. 31, 2022, after 21 years with the organization. FM Approvals thanks Paris for his dedicated service and significant contributions.
