FM Approvals has been made aware by Gorman Rupp Pumps of a potential safety related issue involving submersible pump motors manufactured with an undersized ground wire.

Hazard Involved: The products in question are SF Series Submersible Pump Motor, Model SF6E-X associated with the serial numbers noted in the table below. An investigation by Gorman-Rupp discovered that there was a total of 10 units that were manufactured and shipped to distributors with the incorrect (undersized) ground wire.

The affected distributors will be receiving a communication from Gorman Rupp, stating that these pump motors will require re-work by Gorman-Rupp Service prior to shipping to end customers.

Impacted distributors or customers should not install or use a pump motor with the serial numbers above and contact Gorman-Rupp Pumps if you have not already received a communication.
