FM Approval Status: FM Approved

Hazard Involved: The product in question is any Kidde Fire Systems Low Pressure Carbon Dioxide (LPCO2) Extinguishing System that includes a Frangible Sealing Disc, P/N WK-260885-000, which is used in the Flange and Cover Assembly for Type V Nozzles, P/N 81-844492-000.  It has been determined that the frangible disc may not rupture at the minimum nozzle pressure of 150 psi, which could result in the system not discharging into the protected hazard.

USING THIS PRODUCT?

If you suspect you are in possession of a LPCO2 system with the affected nozzle cover assembly, please follow the process indicated in the attached Kidde Fire Systems Product Safety Notice bulletin, procedure, and notification. The solution detailed will allow the agent to flow if the system is discharged, but will no longer prevent the potential infiltration of debris into the nozzle. FM Approvals has been advised that a replacement part is under development.
