Hazard Involved:  Rosemount Inc has issued a safety related product notification involving FM Approved QR-F-111 and QR-F-112, SafEye Quasar 900 Open Path Gas Receiver  and QT-F-111, QT-F-211, QT-F-311, QT-F-411, QT-F-112, QT-F-212, QT-F-312, and QT-F-412, SafEye Quasar 900 Open Path Gas Transmitters manufactured from March 6, 2013 to January 19, 2021.

This notification highlights that an endcap may have been assembled without the glass lens installed. The glass lens allows the operator to view the back LED indicator. The endcap provides access to the terminal connection compartment, which is isolated from the back LED indicator and detector electronics. Omission of the glass lens impacts both the Explosion proof and Dust Ignition proof ratings. To correct the issue the endcap must be replaced.

Rosemount Inc. recommends inspecting the terminal block endcap. No further action is required if the endcap is found to include the glass lens. If the glass lens is missing, it is recommended to immediately power down the unit and contact either Emerson Global Customer Care or Rosemount North American Response Center to arrange a free of charge endcap replacement. A notice was sent to all customers who have units covered under this product safety notification.
