Counterfeit Tyco Fire Products D3 Spray Nozzles

FM Approvals has been made aware of counterfeit spray nozzles found in Saudi Arabia bearing an FM Approvals mark. FM Approvals has neither tested nor certified these products.

Product Identity: The nozzles bear the model designation “D3” which is designated to Tyco Fire Products and the letters “TFP,” however, these were not made by Tyco Fire Products. The identity of the manufacturer is unknown.

Description: ½ inch NPT open spray nozzle

FM Approval Status: Not FM Approved.

Hazard Involved: These spray nozzles cannot be relied on to produce the same published spray angles and ranges as authentic D3 nozzles. Further, the failure of the deflector is possible and the value of the discharge coefficient (k-factor) and its consistency across its rated range of discharge pressure is unknown.
